City Co-operative Bank Limited, Shivamogga a leading Urban Co-operative Bank in India. Initially the bank started as a City Co-operative bank in the year 1912 was founded by Sri. S.R. Balakrishna Rao and were co-founders by C. Subba Rao, Anantaiah, Batny Raja Rao, Govinda Shastry, B.K. Nanjundaiah, M Surya Narayana and other Co-operators during the beginning of the Co-operative movement in our country with prime object of encouraging thrift and savings habit among the public and to free the common man from the clutches of private money lenders.

The bank began with 76 members, mobilised Share capital of Rs.3,000/- from them and also mobilized Deposits of Rs. 221/- from which advanced Rs.2429/-.and profit was Rs.289/- .Later converted as Urban Co-operative Bank through obtaining RBI License on 27-02-1997. Today the total business of the bank has crossed Rs. 93.31 crores.

The Bank is functioning on the sound principles of co-operation and successfully completed more than 108 years of banking service. The bank is continuously making profit since the date of its inception and disbursing dividend to its members and also in ‘A’ Grade Audit classification in the year 2020.Visionary and transparent directors on the board and dedicated professional staffs are responsible for this achievement.

Our bank celebrated Silver Jubilee in 1937, Golden Jubilee in 1962, Diamond Jubilee in 1977, Platinum Jubilee in 1987 and Centenary Celebrations on 31-03-2012.
